The Adult Physical Assessment workshop provides the participant the platform to learn and understand
the essentials of health history taking and interview points, demonstrate steps and techniques in
physical assessment for each body system, identify expected normal and/or abnormal
The workshop also includes case study analysis to promote critical thinking as participants make a
judgment about the client’s health status, highlight cultural competencies, client-centered care,
advocacy, and empowerment. Through virtual meetings, a didactic presentation and tutored practice of
physical assessment will be delivered.
Completion of Adult Physical Assessment
Upon successful completion of this workshop, the participants will demonstrate the ability to:
- Integrate holistic health care, family dynamics and culture sensitivity and diversity in the assessment of individual’s health status.
- Analyze case study scenarios with emphasis on clinical reasoning, critical thinking, prioritization and management of care, patient safety, advocacy, collaboration, and empowerment.
- Demonstrate basic techniques and skills for completing adult physical assessment on selected body system.
